Quicksilver
From my research i found that the brand Quiksilver disclose very little information online, which have made them a hard company to research.
Looking into the behind the barcode article which
contains research on what 18
fashion companies are doing across 61 seperate assesment criteria. The main categories that have been looked into are; policies, tracebility, transparency, monitoring, training and workers rights.
The overall results of the research show that Quiksilver have good policies, achieveing grade B on a scale of A-F - A being the best. However the Tracebility and Transparency, Monitoring and Training and Workers rights grade were not considered good, resulting in grades D and F.
Across the board quiksilver results were negative for knowledge of cut and make of the garments, textiles and knowing where the raw materials were sourced.
As stated in the article Companies that haven’t traced the suppliers producing their products can’t actively ensure that workers are being protected from labour rights abuses. This contributes to why Quiksilver isnt considered a transparent company.
This also includes not knowing any of the living wages for their employees as they don't know the country in which the products are being sourced from. Which reflects on the brand having bad tracebility and monitoring as they dont disclose any information to the public about their supply chain.
